This shoot was conceived Jan 2019, after I started to see a huge change in who was looking to shop Copious. No one can deny the cultural shift with gender happening around the globe, it is becoming more fluid, we are seeing a return of unisex silhouettes and men are starting to push their day to day style boundaries. Feeling this, I instantly went to Kaja with my thoughts and not only was she in love with the idea, she also had the perfect location.
Before the shoot, we talked and planned for months to make sure every detail was perfect, because everything we wanted to say was so important. We openly talked about gender and how clothing, posture and even positioning of models can be perceived as masculine or feminine. We wanted to break down those norms and show that a human no matter how they identify, can be and wear what they want.
Thank you to Kaja, this shoot was our biggest endeavour to date and I am lucky to have a creative partner who helps me develop and bring these ideas to life. Malika, Jadyn, Andrew, Anthonia and Jesse, we were so lucky to get to collaborate with each of you for this project. We all put our hearts into this editorial and we were all there for the same reason, because we love creating art.
