LISTENING TO

March was the last push before OOAK, which meant lots of sewing and binging podcasts. Something Was Wrong focuses on survivors telling their stories of survival. They tell us how they got into their abusive relationships and more importantly how they got out of them. The host is also a survivor and she does a beautiful job highlighting their journey to freedom and independence.

the once and future king by T. H. White
READING

The first book that pulled me into reading was The Sword and the Stone, and The Once and Future King is the brilliant reimagining of the same author.
T.H. White is a genius. This story is told as if all events have already happened. With Merlyn's life being lived backward, he often references events that haven't happened yet. This whole book is written like this which makes it so interesting, plus reinforces that I believe Meryln's character is T. H. White.

WATCHING

Tokyo Vice is the story of Jake Adelstein, an American journalist based in Tokyo, he writes for the Meicho newspaper where he and his colleagues work to take down one Yakuza leader. Based on the book of the same name, also written by Jake, this is based on true events. It explores this world, but also it explores the difference between Japanese and American culture. I am thoroughly enjoying this series and highly recommend it.

DOING
This month was all leading toward OOAK and of course, you all showed up to make it epic! This event means a lot to me, it launched my brand in a big way and allowed me the space to meet, sell, and tell my story to so many of you. Plus it brought me into an even bigger maker community so each time I set up for it, it feels like going to camp with all your friends!
Thank you for supporting Copious, it truly means the world to me.
WORKING ON
Last winter The Clare Poncho's sold out and I had many requests to make more for Spring. I chose specific fabrics that gave us Spring vibes, and you really came out to shop this style. It has always been one of my favourites, and now that it is made from upcycled materials, they are even more special. I feel that each one-of-a-kind piece has a soul and at shows I get to see the moment you fall in love with your piece and it goes home with you. It's the feeling we should all have with out clothing.
