What I've been...

LISTENING TO

Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter is everything I wanted it to be. Growing up country was all my dad listened to, lots of Johnny, Willie, Emilou, and Dolly, so I appreciate her nods to the singers and songwriters of earlier generations. She melds this genre with her style of music making an epic album.

READING

Each Farley Mowat book is better than the last. Sibir was informative, heartfelt, and endearing. Farley was one of the first Canadian journalists to visit Russia at the end of the 60's and with his love of the Canadian north, he wanted to go north in Russia. He depicts his time there, the people he met, their immense hospitality, and their mindset of learning to live with the northern elements and not fighting against them.

WATCHING

I read this book years ago and was thrilled it was being produced for a TV series. Shōgun is set in the Sengoku period, when everyone was warring, and kicks off with an English boat, captained by John Blackthorne is marooned in Japan. He has to learn Japanese customs to survive, all the while he is being used as a pawn by Torananga's rise to power.

DOING
April is always the recovery and regroup month for me. After OOAK and the push to be ready for it, I need time to rest before the next big project. I spent most weekends relaxing, but I did have an adventure day with my favourite kiddos at the wave pool.
WORKING ON
Fall is Coming. Well not right away, we need time to enjoy some Summer heat, but I am working hard on new Threaded Sweaters. With this collection, I am doubling down on the wild and one-of-a-kind sweaters. Each year they sell first, and people are disappointed when they miss out on them, so I am creating even more for Fall 2024.
